- I think this is just the nature of ZIP drives. They are reasonably
- quick, but have rather slow seek times, hence are just not suited to
- storing lots of frequently accessed small files. Since the main
- performance hit is wit the directory manipulation using AFS may help, but
- you'll probably just have to use a different drive for those small files.

- The Squirrel is probably fast enough. You could use something like
- DiskSpeed to see the amount of CPU time it is using during file access,
- if it is falling below ~20% regularly then a different SCSI board that
- doesn't use so much CPU time may make a difference.
